Visionaries - Changing the World One Story at a Time

We do two things:
We tell stories that serve the greater good, and we teach people to do the same.

Cool, huh? But it gets better.
We do this on a college campus with a faculty of award-winning filmmakers who have produced more than 140 nationally broadcast documentaries shot in more than 50 countries around the world.

One more thing...
Because the production teams are faculty and the equipment is often owned rather than rented, our costs are low. Add to that the fact that we are a non-profit organization and involve student interns in our projects, and you have a formula to create broadcast quality media on budgets that are far below industry rates.

Here's the rub:
We only work on projects that fulfill our non-profit mission and serve the educational needs of our students.

Here are the kinds of stories we want to tell:

Non-profit Profiles
How many times have you said, 'If they could only spend a day in my job, then they would understand, then they would roll up their sleeves and join the struggle.' Visionaries puts the world in your shoes- not so they can watch what it is like, but so they can feel what you feel. We do it with 7-minute presentation videos, half hour television programs and hour-long documentary films.

Show Stoppers
You're having a big get-together. Maybe it's an awards night, anniversary dinner, or you are honoring the founder. We create videos that add luster to those events while creating a development tool that will continue to raise money, recruit volunteers and spread the word long after the event.

On the beach in Palau Spreading Solutions
Have you discovered a salient truth about the work you do? Maybe you have a replicable model or a new perspective on an old problem. Shouldn't those truths be told? Isn't there a moral imperative to share the story? That's what we do. Our non-profit mission is to capture solutions and spread them around the globe.

Great Documentaries
Do you work at a college or private school with a rich history and deep alumni base? Perhaps your museum has a unique collection or body of knowledge. We can turn those resources into a powerful documentary film that captures and preserves the institutional heritage while creating a potent fundraising tool.

Here's how we do it:

The Seven Minute Miracle
Each year the Visionaries Institute will partner with a few organizations to create what we believe to be one of the most compelling art forms in contemporary culture: The Seven Minute Presentation Piece.

It will take 1-2 days to shoot, 3 weeks to edit, and cost well below industry standard. When we are done we will have captured the essence of the story in a stunning visual portrait that will leave viewers awed and inspired. Our partner organization will receive 100 DVD copies of the video and a downloadable internet version for their web site.

The Half-Hour Television Program
We have mastered the art of creating broadcast-length television programs, having produced more than 130 public television documentaries on all types of issues. Now we are looking for partners to develop and bring to market a new series that will be presented on cable outlets, PBS, and new Internet venues.

Full Length Documentaries
Over the last 15 years, we have honed the skill of working with a myriad of people committed to a single issue, cause, or field of study. We know that our job is to take what they know about a subject, and fashion it into a compelling story that will teach and inspire a general audience.
